OPTIMA-CON 2027 is a national optimisation and operations research conference bringing together
researchers, HDR and Masters students, and industry practitioners to accelerate collaboration on
real-world decision-making challenges. Building on the success of OPTIMA- CON 2024, the 2027
conference will feature accessible, applied talks; industry case studies across multiple sectors;
hands-on industry challenge sessions; careers and pathway panels; and structured networking
designed to seed new cross-institution research partnerships. The program connects mathematical
theory with operational constraints in areas such as large- scale optimisation, uncertainty and
stochastic decision-making, data-driven methods, and computational approaches. The conference is
intentionally face-to-face to create an environment where industry and academia can connect,
collaborate, and develop follow-on projects. AMSI/AustMS support will be used to broaden
participation (particularly students, ECRs, and women), connect nationally and internationally, and
strengthen collaboration- focused elements of the program.

This MATRIX Research Program is partially supported by AMSI through the AMSI-AustMS Workshop Funding program, and benefits from the SMRI International Visitor Program.
