Applied Mathematician
Boeing Research & Technology – Australia (BR&T-A) supports the future growth and profitability of Boeing Australia’s businesses and the broader Boeing enterprise. BR&T are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PhD mathematician to join our team of physicists and engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of advanced numerical methods for solving partial differential equations (PDEs). Your expertise in mathematics will be crucial in developing efficient and accurate algorithms to solve complex problems in various scientific and engineering domains.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicists and engineers to understand their specific requirements and challenges in solving PDEs.
- Research, develop, and implement advanced numerical methods for solving PDEs, focusing on accuracy, efficiency, and stability.
- Design and analyze algorithms to solve PDEs using finite difference, finite volume, finite element, or other appropriate numerical techniques.
- Optimize existing numerical methods and algorithms to improve computational efficiency and reduce computational costs.
- Support development and implementation of highly parallelised algorithms.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of implemented algorithms to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the team in utilizing the implemented numerical methods effectively.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in applied mathematics and numerical methods, and identify opportunities for their application in our projects.
