Mathematics Education Research Group of Australasia Conference: MERGA40 2017

40 years on: We are still learning

The MERGA 40 Conference will be hosted by the Faculty of Education, Monash University (Clayton campus, Melbourne, Australia), 2-6 July 2017.
The conference, held at the site of the first MERGA conference, will be celebratory, reflective, and forward-thinking, as we attempt to build upon the work of some of the world’s most influential mathematics education researchers and practitioners.

This special anniversary conference will include an opening plenary by Australia’s Chief Scientist, Dr Alan Finkel AO, at the Australian Synchrotron. Dr Naomi Ingram will present Tuesday’s plenary and Professor Joanne Mulligan will give the Clements/Foyster Lecture on Thursday. Other highlights will be the MERGA1-MERGA40 Panel and a presentation by the recipients of the MERGA40 Beth Southwell Practical Implications Award.

The MERGA conference is renowned for being encouraging and welcoming. Within this highly supportive environment, the MERGA 40 conference will provide participants with the opportunity to engage in a range of professionally challenging and stimulating activities.
