APR.Intern Announced as a Finalist in the Australian Defence Industry Awards
The Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI)’s industry engagement arm, Australian Postgraduate Research Intern (APR.Intern), has been named a finalist in the Australian Defence Industry Awards for Graduate Program of the Year.
The Australian Defence Industry Awards recognise excellence from defence professionals, organisations and businesses across the country, and awards them with a prestigious accolade for their achievements over the past year.
Graduate Program of the Year recognises a business that has driven demonstrable growth through developing and delivering the most effective defence graduate program for new industry participants.
The finalists, announced on Monday 30 August 2021, represent individuals and groups across the defence industry over 33 categories.
APR.Intern’s National Program Manager, Lisa Farrar, said the program was delighted to be recognised for its service.
“APR.Intern has been connecting defence businesses with Australia’s brightest PhD research students for more than a decade. Despite 2020’s Pandemic challenges, we increased the number of student placements with defence businesses, and thank the Awards panel for its recognition,” said Lisa.
“The sheer number of submissions, plus the ongoing and continued support of our partners and judges, provides a great level of confidence for Australia’s defence industry and is representative of the depth of talent we have in the sector. I wish everyone the best of luck on the night,” said Defence Connect Director William Magee.
The winners will be announced at a black-tie gala event hosted in Canberra on Tuesday 7 December 2021.
