The Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) congratulates applied mathematician and AMSI Board member, Professor Peter Taylor, from the University of Melbourne, on being elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science.
“Fellows of the Australian Academy of Science are among the nation’s most distinguished scientists, elected by their peers for ground-breaking research and contributions that have had clear impact,” said President of the Australian Academy of Science, Professor Chennupati Jagadish AC.
Professor Taylor is joined by 19 other Australian Scientists, all of whom are recognised for their outstanding contributions to the advancement of STEM in Australia.
“Congratulations to Peter on his election as a Fellow of the Academy of Science. It’s an outstanding achievement which reflects his many contributions to the mathematical sciences,” said Professor Tim Marchant, AMSI’s Director.
Professor Taylor has also been recently appointed as an Independent Member to the AMSI Board. His years of experience, long-term involvement with AMSI and this prestigious Fellowship award attest to his capacity and commitment to improving and advancing Australia’s mathematical sciences. The AMSI Executive looks forward to working with Professor Taylor, in his role as a member of the AMSI Board.
