AMSI Director, Geoff Prince has warned Australia’s mathematical capability is at risk with the Institute’s latest report on the health of the discipline showing it is feeling the effects of gender inequity and an ageing skill repository. Poor business investment also remains a challenge, with new figures showing the discipline accounted for only 0.2 per cent of recent research and development expenditure.
