Congratulations to Professor Nalini Joshi on her inclusion in the Queen’s Birthday 2016 Honours List as an Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia. Nalini was recognised for her distinguished service to the mathematical sciences and tertiary education as an academic, author and researcher, as well as her contributions to professional societies and as a role model and mentor to young mathematicians.
A powerful voice for women in mathematics, she has greatly contributed to AMSI as an Observer of the Board and through her instrumental role in establishing a productive relationship between the AustMS and AMSI. As a strong supporter of the institute, she has also been actively involved in our research and higher education training programs and workshops. We congratulate Nalini on this well-deserved acknowledgement of her outstanding career and contribution Australian mathematics.
