BHP Billiton Foundation and the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) are partnering with Singleton High School and local Industry to inspire Years 9 and 10 students to pursue mathematics.

Event Summary:
Local industry and academic speakers will use real-life case studies to demonstrate the power of maths as the gateway to local and broader industry career pathways.

Panel:

A series of interactive sessions will challenge students through team-based activities demonstrating the real-world application of mathematical concepts.

Part of Singleton High School’s ongoing engagement with Choose Maths, this event aims to empower students, particularly girls, to consider maths studies as they make key study decisions for Years 11 and 12.

Interviews and filming opportunities
There are opportunities to film speakers and maths in action during interaction sessions at 10 am – 11 am and 11.30 – 12.50. Students are also available for interview on request.
