Current data released by AMSI reveals only 41 per cent of Australian universities require year 12 students to study intermediate mathematics to enrol in engineering, with that figure falling to 14 per cent for science and 13 per cent for commerce. As Year 12 students turn away from high-level mathematics, the University of Sydney is leading the charge to reintroduce mathematics prerequisites in a bid to turn the tide on Australia’s maths crisis. Read More.
