Salary: $110,811 to $130,846 plus 17% Superannuation

Western Sydney University is a modern, forward-thinking, research-led university, located at the heart of Australia’s fastest-growing economically significant region, Western Sydney. The School of Computer, Data and Mathematical Sciences is located in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Cluster, together with the School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment, the School of Science, the MARCS Institute and the Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment. The School offers programs in mathematics, data science, computer science and information technologies. Western Sydney University demonstrated its commitment to foundational science establishing the Centre for Research in Mathematics and Data Science in 2013.  Several researchers in the centre hold ARC Discovery Project or Future Fellowship grants, and the centre has become a venue for international AMSI workshops and conferences in pure mathematics. Mathematics has been consistently ranked above world standard in ERA; in ERA 2018, the fields Mathematics (FoR 01), Pure Mathematics (FoR 0101) and Applied Mathematics (FoR 0102) each received a ranking of 4 out of 5.

We seek an energetic, forward-thinking, dynamic, and innovative mathematician to take on a Level B academic position in mathematics for a full-time, permanent position.

The successful applicant is expected to be developing a strong international standing and research reputation, have an excellent research background in mathematics, have a demonstrated track record of publication of high-quality papers in top journals in the field, and the capacity to undertake independent research. The position is based at the Campbelltown Campus.
