Fraction of a quantity
Fraction of a quantity
Question 1
Draw a diagram showing \(\dfrac{1}{3}\) of 6 pineapples.
Solution
The denominator of the fraction tells us how many equal parts we need to divide the 6 pineapples into. Divide the 6 pineapples into 3 equal parts.
Each equal part has 2 pineapples.
So, \(\dfrac{1}{3}\) of 6 = 2.
