Cate started as the Business Development Manager for APR.Intern in September 2011. Her role, through the placement of postgraduate students, is to develop and grow the postgraduate internship business of AMSI. It is her responsibility to place students, from a variety of disciplines, into private companies and public agencies. Through the APR.Intern program, she is able to realise her passion for the education of young people and assist them as they start on their chosen career path. Prior to working in the APR.Intern program, Cate worked at The International College of Management Sydney in a dual role as a Industry Training/Learning & Development Manager and Business Development Manager. As Industry Training/Learning & Development Manager, she was responsible for placing undergraduate students across eight disciplines. As Business Development Manager, she was required to identify and co-ordinate industry partnerships which entailed strengthening and ‘brick walling’ those partnerships who offered the College long-term opportunities. Prior to working at the College, Cate held two strategic sales and marketing roles as a Business Development Manager (four years) with two of the leading Hotel and Resort chains within the Australian market. It was within these roles she developed her skills in client relationship management and securing new business prospects through sales and marketing-based activities. During her time at the hotels, she managed corporate clients in both the large and SME arenas for twelve business units nationally. In 2002 Cate graduated from Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Communications.
