Commutative law for multiplication
The properties of multiplication are more apparent from the array and area approach rather than a number line. Turning the 3 × 5 array on its side illustrates that 3 × 5 = 5 × 3 because the 'area' does not change.
We can also see this by rotating the appropriate rectangle.
