A square piece of chocolate has a perimeter of 34 mm. What is the length of each side of the piece of chocolate?
Solution
Perimeter of the square piece of chocolate is 34 mm.
| Perimeter of a square | = 4 x Length (P = 4 x L) |
| Therefore 34 | = 4 x L |
| So L | = 34 ÷ 4 |
| L | = 8.5 mm. |
The length of each side of the piece of chocolate is 8.5 mm.
